Transfer Students Qualifications Applicants with more than 30 semester hours of transfer credit, at the time of application, are considered transfer students and need not submit high school information, including ACT or SAT scores. To be most competitive for admission your transfer GPA should be in the B+ range or higher. The higher your transfer GPA, the better the opportunity for admission to BYU-Hawaii. When possible, we encourage applicants to earn an Associates of Arts/Science degree at a community or junior college prior to applying. However, students who are approaching or who have earned over 90 attempted semester credit hours will not be admitted. With an associate degree from schools with a transfer agreement, credits will transfer to BYU-Hawaii having satisfied all of the General Education requirements with the exception of an interdisciplinary studies course. However, Hawaii Community Colleges have additional requirements. Please contact your respective academic advisor for more information on registration of major classes. Transfer students are encouraged to apply for scholarships. More information is available at our scholarship link.
