About Us
The Health Center is centrally located and provides medical care to all students, their dependents and DMBA Managed Care participants who have identified the University doctor as their primary care provider. Staffing includes a board certified family practice physician, a physician assistant, registered nurses, a medical assistant and a full front office staff. Most health conditions can be treated at the Health Center. Specialty care is referred out to a network of specialists. HoursClinic hours are from 8 am to 5 pm, except on Wednesdays when we close at 3 pm. The Health Center is closed on weekends and all school-observed holidays. We may also close occasionally for staff meetings or other business purposes. For urgent after-hour health advice, you may consult with Health Center medical personnel by phone by calling BYU-Hawai'i Security at 293-3911. Twenty-four hour emergency care may be obtained at the nearby Kahuku Hospital or any hospital on Oahu. For a listing of other emergency and community medical resources, please click here. Health Requirements for AdmissionPrior to admission, all students must fill out a health immunization form documenting proof of 2 MMRs (measles, mumps, rubella vaccination). When you arrive on campus, you will receive a TB screening test (tuberculosis). ConfidentialityThe Health Center is bound by laws of confidentiality, and personal information will not be released to a third party without written permission from the patient.
